That was the case in St. Paul, Minnesota, which suffered a significant cyberattack last Friday that it has been unable to mitigate.

Things have gotten so bad that the city has declared a state of emergency, while the governor activated the National Guard to assist.

According to remarks by St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, the attack was first noticed early in the morning of Friday, July 25.

Proton VPN reported a staggering 1,400% surge in UK sign-ups almost immediately after the Online Safety Act came into effect.

The surge in downloads follows the UK government’s rollout of the Online Safety Act, which came into effect after midnight on Friday, July 25.
